I graduated from Memorial a few years before Mark and had the pleasure of being his teammate on the wrestling team (we knew him affectionately as "Gravy"). For some reason, I was sitting in my office tonight and he popped into my head. I did a search for him on the internet assuming he had gone on to become a professor or doctor and was shocked to hear of his passing. I have not seen or talked to Mark since high school, but remember him vividly and can best describe him as a tender warrior. I am sorry for the loss of such a wonderful human being, but know he is in heaven smiling down on us.

Mark was a rising senior when I was in 8th grade, and my brother was a sophomore. I always heard stories about how tough and intimidating Mark could be. I regularly tagged along with the sophomore crowd to summer work outs, team meals, etc. while I did find mark to be intimidating, he was also very welcoming, which he did not have to be to some nobody 8th grader. I will always remember and grateful for his maturity as a 17 year old kid.
my prayers are with the family.

It is still unbelievable to me that Mark is gone. I would always be thrilled to get a phone call from him to hear about his latest ventures and adventures. From watching him play high school football games, through his time at college and into his professional life, his energy was always infectious. I will miss you Mark, and the passion you brought to everything.
